In a remarkable turn of events, a 22-year-old woman wanted by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) was discovered hiding under a pile of toys. She was the subject of an appeal regarding her failure to appear in court.
The woman faced multiple charges, including three counts of assault on an emergency worker, drugs offences, and theft. After GMP posted a social media appeal to locate her, she cheekily replied, "Hey guys."
Police located her in Manchester city centre, concealed in a room beneath children's toys. She was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear in court and for assaulting a police officer.
As of Friday afternoon, the woman remains in custody for questioning. Detective Inspector Natalie McDonald from GMP’s Manchester Central Neighbourhood Crime Team stated, “We currently have a woman in custody being questioned by detectives thanks to the swift actions of our officers."
“We want to thank everyone who engaged with our post; it ultimately helped us to locate and arrest this woman. Our dedicated teams of officers across Manchester are actively seeking and arresting those who are wanted.”
