Early on Sunday morning, October 27, a woman was viciously attacked while walking with a friend in Royton, Greater Manchester.
At approximately 2am, the duo was walking down Rochdale Road when they were approached by a group of three to four men.
An altercation ensued, resulting in a punch being thrown, which led to the woman sustaining severe injuries. She was promptly rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Witnesses reported seeing the group of men fleeing the scene, running towards Rochdale.
As of October 29, the woman remains hospitalized, and Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have issued an appeal for information regarding the incident.
Detective Sergeant Kate Dawson from GMP’s Oldham district commented, “This shocking attack has left a woman in hospital with severe injuries, for which she is still being assessed. No-one should have to endure horrific incidents like this and we are investigating all aspects as we continue our enquiries.”
She added, “I would urge anyone with any information to please get in touch with us. This could be CCTV, mobile phone, dashcam, or doorbell footage that was captured from around the time of the incident. Even small information or detail could greatly benefit our work.”
