A renowned UK actor has been taken into custody on suspicion of committing child sex offences. Allegations have surfaced that he abused five teenage boys.

This month, police conducted a search of the actor's residence due to historical paedophile accusations dating back to the 1990s, a period when he starred in popular series alongside some of Britain's most celebrated actors.

The actor's identity remains confidential. Following several hours in custody, he was granted bail, leaving his loved ones, including his partner, shocked by the serious allegations, which he has strenuously denied.

Despite the serious nature of the claims, the television figure, known for his prominent roles, maintains his innocence. After his detention, he was released on bail.

A police spokesperson revealed to The Sun: "Officers investigating allegations from the 1990s detained a man. He was arrested on suspicion of several sexual offences relating to five men who were teenage boys at the time of the alleged incidents. He has been conditionally bailed while investigations continue."

During the search of his home, officers reportedly seized computers and documents prior to his arrest on suspicion of sex crimes against the five youths.

Currently, the investigation is focused on gathering evidence related to the alleged abuse of the five victims by the unidentified soap star, as reported by the Mirror.
