A tragic incident unfolded at All Saints High School in Sheffield on Monday, February 3, where a teenage boy, Harvey Willgoose, was fatally stabbed. He succumbed to his injuries shortly after the attack.
15-year-old Harvey's sister, Sophie Willgoose, expressed her grief on Facebook, encouraging others to cherish their loved ones. She wrote: "My heart is broken into a million pieces I love you so much Harvey. Hug your loved ones a little tighter tonight cos I wish I could."
Emergency services responded swiftly, placing All Saints High School on lockdown at 12:17 PM. Forensic investigators arrived on the scene immediately, and tributes began to pour in as flowers and balloons were left outside the school.
A heartfelt note from one of Harvey's teachers was found among the tributes, describing him as “always polite and friendly.” The note read: “I only taught you a few times in year 7 but I remember you well. Despite being occasionally a little too energetic, you were always polite and friendly. I am so sorry this has happened.”
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the incident. Assistant Chief Constable Lindsey Butterfield of South Yorkshire Police addressed the community, stating: “Our thoughts are with the family of the boy who has sadly lost his life, his friends, and the whole school community.”
She continued, "We know that what has happened will cause significant distress and concern, and our officers will remain on scene and in the local area to offer reassurance to parents, staff, and local residents as our investigation continues. Although we are in the early stages of our enquiries, we are working at pace to build up a full picture of how this tragedy unfolded."
