A trusted teacher from a quiet Cheshire village, Rebecca Joynes, has been found guilty of sexual offences involving her students in Greater Manchester. Her trial at Manchester Crown Court revealed shocking details of her actions.

Joynes was first accused in August 2022 for engaging in sexual activities with her pupils. Despite being on bail, she continued such interactions. Her disregard for the law is highlighted by her arriving in court with a baby bonnet in her trousers, symbolizing her actions that trapped a teenager into fatherhood.

The court was unaware that Joynes spent part of her pregnancy incarcerated in HMP Styal, near Manchester. Her promising career, initiated through the Teach First programme, spiraled as she faced these severe allegations.

Eventually, more evidence led to Joynes being remanded into custody. She preyed on two boys, luring them into inappropriate relationships. Despite breaching bail conditions, Joynes remained unrepentant during her trial.
