Suspected Fraudsters Arrested in Bolton

Police have arrested two individuals suspected of attempting to defraud an elderly woman by coercing her into withdrawing a large sum of money.

Authorities intercepted the suspects at a bank in Bolton town center, prompted by an observant bank employee's alert. The Tactical Vehicle Intercept Team of GMP responded promptly to the situation on Market Street.

Two men, aged 27 and 48, were taken into custody under suspicion of fraudulent activity, with one also wanted for additional crimes.

The suspects are under interrogation, following allegations that they coerced the victim to her bank to access her funds.

Sergeant Paul Lockett shared that proactive measures and diligent staff prevented any financial harm to the victim, who was safely returned to her relatives after the incident.
