At approximately 12:50am on Wednesday, a man was shot in the leg on Woodlands Road in Crumpsall. Reports of the shooting prompted officers to rush to the scene.
The incident was preceded by two vehicles that "intentionally crashed into each other" on nearby Crumpsall Lane due to a dispute. One of the vehicles involved was reported stolen, and both cars left the scene heavily damaged.
Following the crash, the stolen vehicle collided with a bollard in Salford, and its occupants fled the scene. The second vehicle then arrived at a hotel on Woodlands Road, where two individuals on a motorbike approached and opened fire before escaping towards Cheetham Hill.
The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his leg injury. A 50-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of affray and theft of a motor vehicle and is currently in police custody.
