City centre visitors are being warned by the police to stay vigilant after a rapid theft where an iPhone was snatched from a victim's hand.
Authorities are seeking public assistance following the incident that occurred on Tuesday. They have released a CCTV image of a suspect, seen wearing a balaclava and riding an electric bike, who they believe can provide crucial information for the investigation.
The theft was reported on Angel Street and Rochdale Road, located on the northern edge of the city centre around 6:30 PM.
Officer Lewis Mellor urged citizens to stay aware of their belongings and avoid distractions while out in the city centre. He emphasized the high value of the stolen iPhone and acknowledged the distress such thefts can cause, given how quickly they can occur.
