On Sunday, November 17, police cordoned off the Swan Hotel located on Tottington Road in Bury. Officers have maintained a presence at the pub throughout the day.
The entrance to the pub and part of the car park have been closed off. Eyewitnesses reported the presence of crime scene investigators earlier that day.
Local residents informed the Manchester Evening News that they heard arguing late on Saturday night, with emergency services reportedly arriving in the early hours of Sunday morning.
In a statement posted on Facebook, pub management confirmed the closure was due to a 'police incident'. A spokesperson for the Swan Hotel stated, "Unfortunately, due to a police incident, the pub will remain closed until further notice."
They added, "We’ve been advised we could open around 6pm but can’t guarantee." Further details concerning the nature of the incident remain unconfirmed, as Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for a statement.
