On November 3, police made a significant discovery in Bury after receiving multiple reports from concerned residents regarding suspicious activity. PCSOs patrolling Manchester Road Park observed two males acting suspiciously.
As the PCSOs approached, the individuals fled the scene. In their search of the area, they uncovered 50 snap bags containing cannabis hidden underneath a pile of leaves.
The recovered bags varied in size and street value, according to Greater Manchester Police. The Moorside and Redvales PCSOs had been patrolling the area following reports of males allegedly engaging in drug dealing from a location on Manchester Road.
This was not the first report; a claim had been made to GMP just days earlier. A GMP Bury spokesperson shared on Facebook: "Upon patrolling the area, PCSOs encountered two males acting suspiciously. One was observed covering something with his foot before fleeing quickly."
They continued, "PCSOs searched the area near where he was standing and discovered the source of his suspicious behavior - fifty snap bags of cannabis, all of various sizes and street value. The team encourages residents to keep reporting any suspicious activities, as the more information we receive, the more effective our response can be."
