Police Appeal for Information on Phone Theft

Police have released a CCTV image related to a theft investigation in Manchester city centre.

The incident occurred on Portland Street at approximately 1am on Sunday, March 9.

On April 7, Greater Manchester Police issued the image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the theft of a mobile phone.

The man in the image is described as wearing a hat and a face covering, and detectives believe he may hold vital information regarding the investigation.

Authorities are urging the man pictured, or anyone who may recognize him, to come forward promptly.

Witnesses are also encouraged to contact GMP with any information.

A GMP city centre spokesperson stated: "We are looking to speak to this man as we believe he can assist with investigations following the theft of a mobile phone on Portland Street, Manchester, on March 9, 2025, at around 1am."
