Oldham Man Found Guilty of Abusing Schoolgirl

A Manchester court has found 19-year-old Faisal Khan guilty of engaging in repeated sexual activities with a 14-year-old girl, whom he met on Snapchat. Khan also faces charges of supplying the girl with cannabis.

Despite claiming innocence and saying that he believed the girl to be 19, Khan, from Oldham, was convicted by a jury. The case brought to light that Khan regularly met the girl, often providing her with alcohol and drugs.

The court heard that Khan initiated contact by complimenting the girl on Snapchat. They eventually met in person, where he supplied her with substances, arranging secretive meetings in a car park near her home.

Over 3,000 messages exchanged between the two revealed Khan’s deep involvement with the girl, including declarations of love and plans for a hotel meet-up. At one point, a teacher discovered a sexual image on the girl's phone, prompting police investigation and Khan's eventual arrest.

Although Khan admitted to meeting the girl only three times, he denied any inappropriate conduct. The court was told he has a mild intellectual developmental disorder, affecting his perception of age.

Faisal Khan remains in custody and is scheduled for sentencing on May 24.
