Emergency services are responding to a stabbing incident in Nottingham today, February 23. The city centre Primark store has been cordoned off following the event, with social media reports showing at least four police cars on site earlier.

Nottinghamshire Police reported an altercation outside the Long Row shop involving a group of young people, after which the suspect fled towards Old Market Square. The victim, a 17-year-old boy, received on-site treatment from paramedics before being transported to the hospital with serious injuries. Detectives are appealing for witnesses to provide any relevant information.

A woman in her 40s, who preferred to remain anonymous, remarked on the unsettling nature of the incident, stating that it could happen anywhere and indicating a lack of deterrence. A nearby store manager echoed this sentiment, expressing concern for the safety of the area.

In a statement, Detective Inspector Paul Shortt described the stabbing as an "appalling act of violence" witnessed by the public. He urged anyone with information to come forward.
