At around 10.30pm on last night (September 6), Greater Manchester Police officers and emergency services responded to reports of a concern for welfare in Bury.

Upon arrival, a woman, aged 35, who has not yet been named, was found with multiple wounds and sadly pronounced dead at the scene shortly after at a property on Walnut Avenue.

Her next-of-kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

No arrests have been made but officers have identified a suspect who they believe was involved. However, they do not pose a threat to the wider community at this time and officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the incident.
