Andrew Hall, 57, appeared via video link in Manchester Crown Court today, facing charges related to the murder of a 75-year-old man, Geoffery Ives.

Ives was discovered deceased in his Hardfield Street, Heywood apartment on January 29. Police found his body after a welfare check call.

No pleas were entered at the hearing. Hall is scheduled for trial on July 31. Until then, he remains in custody pending a preliminary hearing on May 12 at the same court.
