On January 10, a 23-year-old woman named Lucy Harrison tragically died after being fatally shot at her father's home in Prosper, Texas, while she was on holiday from Warrington, England.

The incident, confirmed by Cheshire Police, prompted an inquest that was opened and subsequently adjourned at Warrington Coroners Court on February 12.

A preliminary report revealed that "Ms Harrison was on holiday in the USA when she has been fatally shot with a firearm."

After the hearing, Lucy's mother and boyfriend shared a heartfelt tribute, celebrating her vibrant spirit and deep capacity for love. They described her as a young woman who was "thriving in life".

The family expressed, "Lucy was life. She lived it fiercely and fearlessly, not being afraid to feel all that life has to offer. Lucy unashamedly loved – she had a huge capacity to love and be loved."

They further noted her love for travel and new experiences, alongside her joy in simple pleasures, stating, "She adored travel and being away, yet at the same time, she loved nothing more than snuggling up in her pyjamas with her candles on at home."

Lucy's family remarked on her vibrant personality, saying she could be both dramatic and straightforward, highlighting her complex nature: "She was truly thriving in life and although this gives us great comfort, we are utterly heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful, gorgeous Luce."

Cheshire Police confirmed the details of her death, stating, "Lucy died on Friday, January 10, following an incident at her father's home in Prosper, Texas." They also mentioned that the inquest was adjourned until March 28, 2024.
