A 23-year-old woman, Lucy Harrison, from Warrington, was fatally shot while on holiday at her father's home in Prosper, Texas. This tragic incident occurred on January 10, as confirmed by Cheshire Police.
The inquest into her death was opened and adjourned at Warrington Coroners' Court on February 12. Lucy was a graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University, and her family described her as someone who lived life 'fiercely and fearlessly'.
A report presented during the inquest stated: "Ms Harrison was on holiday in the USA when she has been fatally shot with a firearm."
Following the hearing, Lucy's mother and boyfriend paid a heartfelt tribute, stating: "Lucy was life. She lived it fiercely and fearlessly, not being afraid to feel all that life has to offer. Lucy unashamedly loved – she had a huge capacity to love and be loved."
They described her as the "embodiment of wonderful contradictions," noting her love for travel and experiences combined with her enjoyment of cozy nights at home. They emphasized her vibrant personality, saying, "She was truly thriving in life and although this gives us great comfort, we are utterly heartbroken at the loss of our beautiful, gorgeous Luce."
Cheshire Police confirmed that Lucy died on January 10 "following an incident at her father's home." The police announced that the inquest, which was opened on February 12, has been adjourned until March 28, 2024.
