Liverpool Shooting: Trial of Thomas Cashman

The trial concerning the tragic death of nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel in Liverpool has revealed critical evidence. CCTV footage shown to the jury captures the moments surrounding the fatal incident.

Thomas Cashman, 34, stands accused of Olivia's murder that occurred on August 22 last year in Dovecot, Liverpool. Her mother, Cheryl Korbel, was injured in the attack, and Joseph Nee, the presumed target, was also harmed.

The trial, held at Manchester Crown Court, has detailed Cashman's movements on the day of the shooting. He allegedly passed by Finch Lane multiple times, where Nee was watching a football match.

The prosecution alleges that just after 9pm, Cashman was seen walking along Finch Lane. Video evidence presented shows Nee and a friend leaving a house shortly before 10pm, followed by a man chasing them and firing shots.

Cheryl Korbel attempted to close her door as Nee fled toward her home, but another shot was fired. The bullet struck Cheryl's hand and fatally hit Olivia, who was standing inside.
