Jordan Blenkinship Sentenced for Historic Sex Offences

On a recent date, a man named Jordan Blenkinship was sentenced to jail after being found guilty of a series of historic sex offences against a young girl. His offences date back to 2009 when he was just 17 years old and his victim was only four.

The 32-year-old perpetrated multiple sexual assaults on the girl over a two-year span. These heinous acts were first reported in 2010 when someone close to the victim alerted the authorities. Blenkinship was arrested in March 2010 but denied the allegations during police interviews.

In a significant turn of events, nearly a decade later in 2019, the victim bravely came forward to support a police investigation aimed at holding Blenkinship accountable for his crimes. She expressed her desire to empower others who have faced similar experiences, emphasizing that it is never too late to seek justice.

Following her report, Blenkinship was arrested again in October 2019. Although he denied the charges, the police gathered enough evidence to bring 10 separate counts of sexual offences against him.

After a week-long trial at Manchester Crown Court, the jury found Blenkinship guilty of multiple sexual assault charges, including sexual assault by penetration of a girl under the age of 13.

He was sentenced to six years in prison and issued a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order with strict restrictions in place.

Detective Constable Callum Shackleton from GMP’s Major Incident Team commented, "Blenkinship has shown no remorse for the physical and mental trauma he inflicted on the victim. He is a predatory individual who will no longer pose a threat to children."

He further stated, "The arrest and conviction represent the beginning of the healing process for the victim. I hope that with the right support, she can move forward with her life."

Detective Constable Shackleton praised the victim for her strength in coming forward, saying, "We are aware that today’s sentencing does not compensate for the suffering Blenkinship has caused, but we hope she finds comfort in knowing he is now off the streets."

He concluded by encouraging anyone who has experienced sexual assault, regardless of when it occurred, or knows someone who has, to reach out for support.
