Jason Lee Evans Banned from Cheshire Oaks for Shoplifting

A serial shoplifter, Jason Lee Evans, has been banned from the Cheshire Oaks designer outlet. The 33-year-old, without a fixed address, received a three-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) from Chester Magistrates' Court.

This decision follows concerns raised by Cheshire Police, North Wales Police, and Cheshire West and Chester Council regarding Evans' extensive history of shoplifting offences.

The Ellesmere Port Anti-Social Behaviour Unit filed for the CBO, which was granted on Thursday, November 28. In addition to Cheshire Oaks, Evans is also prohibited from entering the Coliseum Shopping Park area in Ellesmere Port.

Individuals who spot Evans at either shopping centre are encouraged to notify the police. Furthermore, Evans must abide by the following conditions:

  • He must vacate any retail premises when requested by staff or security.
  • He is barred from entering any retail premises where he has been verbally or written informed of his exclusion.
  • When entering any retail premises within Cheshire and North Wales, he cannot place items in a bag or rucksack before payment unless they are in a basket or trolley controlled by the store.
  • He cannot enter stores that are part of the Business Crime Reduction Partnership and display their sticker of membership.

PC Alex Johnson of Cheshire Police stated: "I am grateful that the courts have acknowledged our officers' diligent work, leading to Evans being issued with this CBO. I hope this reassures local retailers and residents that we are committed to deterring such criminal activities in our communities."

Anyone observing Evans violating his CBO must contact Cheshire Police online or call 101. Information can also be reported anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
