Dashcam footage captured a dramatic high-speed chase, in which a BMW driver evaded police officers through Cheshire and Greater Manchester after colliding with two police cars.
The incident began at around 2:45 AM on Thursday, September 26, when Cheshire Constabulary officers attempted to stop a blue BMW on Bridge Street in Warrington. The vehicle had been observed ignoring a no-entry sign.
Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated away, leading the police on a pursuit through various roads in the Warrington town centre. The fleeing car reached speeds of up to 70mph in residential areas with a 30mph speed limit.

During the chase, the BMW 'rammed' into two police vehicles, noted Cheshire Police. Despite police deploying a stinger device on Lovely Lane to deflate the BMW's tires, the driver continued to flee, crossing into Greater Manchester and heading towards Leigh.
The driver maneuvered dangerously through residential streets, narrowly avoiding parked cars. This hair-raising footage has since been released by the police.
Ultimately, the police stopped the BMW on Devon Street near Leigh Cemetery, east of the town centre. The driver attempted to escape on foot but was quickly apprehended.
A 27-year-old man from Tyldsley was arrested. Charges against him include dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, drug driving, and possession of cannabis. He remains in custody for further questioning.
Chief Inspector John Forshaw from Cheshire Police's Roads and Crime Unit praised the teamwork that led to the arrest, emphasizing the collaboration across different police units, which was vital in safely deflating the BMW's tires with a stinger device. This action minimized the risk to public safety and brought the chase to a conclusion.
Chief Inspector Forshaw added that the incident serves as a stern warning to crime perpetrators in Cheshire that they will be apprehended and held accountable for their actions.
