On Friday, December 6, at approximately 9:40 PM, a serious incident occurred in Gorton, east Manchester, where a cyclist was struck by a car on Mount Road. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene.
The cyclist, a man whose age has not yet been confirmed, sustained potentially life-threatening injuries and was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Greater Manchester Police reported that a 34-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, as well as for failing a roadside drugs test.
The suspect has since been released on bail following the incident. A police spokesperson provided an update on December 10, confirming the details of the collision and reiterating the severity of the cyclist's injuries.
