A father from Bury, Ghulam Hussan, has been sentenced to 21 months in jail following his conviction for sexually assaulting two carers who were tending to his disabled son.
Hussan, 45, had arranged for overnight carers to allow him to sleep. During one visit in November 2019, he offered a massage to a carer, during which he assaulted her. Another incident occurred in April 2020 when he repeated his actions with a different carer, who reported him to the police.
Despite denying the charges, Hussan was found guilty at Manchester Crown Court of several offences including sexual assault and assault by penetration. The presiding judge, Recorder Andrew Long, outlined that Hussan exploited the carers' sympathy, given his role as the primary caregiver for his son.
Recorder Long stated that Hussan poses a significant risk to female carers and remarked on the absence of remorse from Hussan's side.
The court acknowledged the profound impact on the victims' lives, both mentally and emotionally. Arrangements have been made by social services to ensure the ongoing care of Hussan's son during his imprisonment.
Hussan, residing on Alfred Street, must also register as a sex offender for 10 years.
