Double Stabbing Incident in Longsight, Greater Manchester

Two men have been charged following an alleged double stabbing in Longsight, Greater Manchester.

At approximately 7pm on Tuesday, February 4, a 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man suffered serious injuries near Rushord Street and Purcell Street.

Both victims are currently in hospital, where they are reported to be in a stable condition.

As of this morning (Friday), Greater Manchester Police announced that two men have been charged in connection with the incident:

  • Mohammed Ali Saim, 20, of Aston Avenue, charged with section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.
  • Adam Mehdi Benaicha, 21, of Waverton Road, charged with section 18 assault and possession of an offensive weapon.

Both men have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (Friday, January 70).

It is important to note that Greater Manchester Police initially reported that an 11-year-old boy had been charged, but this information was later clarified as incorrect.
