Double Stabbing Incident in Clayton, Manchester

On Sunday, December 1, at 11:10 PM, police responded to a double stabbing incident in Clayton, east Manchester. Officers were called to Barrington Street, where two men were injured.

One man sustained serious injuries and was taken to the hospital, while another man later arrived at the hospital with stab wounds.

GMP arrested a 22-year-old man on Wednesday, suspecting him of grievous bodily harm. In an update on Friday, police informed that the suspect has since been bailed pending further inquiries.

The incident has been described as 'targeted' by the police. Neighbours recounted being awakened by the sound of a car that appeared to be pursuing someone.

One eyewitness reported, "We were woken up by a car. There was someone in the greenery, someone had gone up the street. The person in the greenery had something in his hand. The car looked like it was trying to get to that person."

Another neighbour described hearing revving before someone yelled 'no', stating, "I heard a lad shout no twice and lots of revving engines. There was no argument or anything that I heard, only the one person saying no."

Detective Chief Inspector Gareth Davies emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with information to come forward. "These acts of violence have no place on our streets," he stated.
