CCTV Appeal: Handbag Theft at Mackie Mayor Food Hall, Manchester

Police have launched a CCTV appeal following the theft of a woman's handbag at Mackie Mayor food hall in Manchester.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have released a picture of a man they wish to speak to regarding the incident, described as wearing distinctive clothing and using a walking stick.

The theft occurred at the Northern Quarter venue just before 2pm on Saturday, February 1.

According to an appeal posted on Facebook by GMP City Centre, "At around 1.56pm on Saturday, February 1, the victim reported that she had her handbag stolen in a food hall on Eagle Street in Manchester city centre. When she went to leave, she could not find her bag. CCTV from the store showed an offender taking the handbag."

Anyone who witnessed the theft or recognizes the man in the image is urged to contact police by calling 101 and quoting crime reference CRI/06A2/0002810/25.
