Angel Hill Sentenced for Violent Sexual Abuse - Court Ruling Insights

A judge has sentenced a 20-year-old woman, Angel Hill, to jail for her violent and sexual abuse. Hill, who is transitioning from male to female, was deemed ‘dangerous’ by the Minshull Street Crown Court.

Hill received an extended sentence for her crimes, which include assault by penetration, sexual assault, strangulation, and making threats with a bladed article. Judge Jason MacAdam expressed skepticism regarding Hill's insight into her actions, stating, “I see no evidence whatsoever that would lead me to conclude you are motivated to change your behaviour. Your approach being ‘it’s all about me’.”

Hill, from High Peak, Derbyshire, will serve a total of 11 years, comprising seven years in prison and four years on extended licence. Prosecutor Stuart Neale informed the court that the victim had struggled to breathe during the strangulation and reported that Hill had threatened, “I’m going to kill you.”

In a victim statement, the psychological toll of the abuse was highlighted. Hill's defense attorney, Julian Goode, argued for leniency due to her youth and mental health issues, claiming she was genuinely remorseful.

The judge acknowledged Hill's age and mental health conditions, reducing the sentence accordingly. He also offered a 20 percent reduction for her guilty plea. Judge MacAdam commented that the victim was spared from the trauma of testifying in court and mandated Hill to register as a sex offender. Hill must serve at least two-thirds of her seven-year sentence before becoming eligible for release.
